We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that since 1945, the interests of Walhalla have been promoted and served by the Walhalla Heritage and Development League Inc., a voluntary group of enthusiasts dedicated to promoting the interests of the township and encouraging those who share our interest in its past and future. As custodians of this website, we warmly welcome your membership. An annual subscription for a single adult costs $AU20 ($AU15 for a pensioner or student), $AU25 for a family or $AU50 for an institutional or commercial membership. Members receive a uniquely enjoyable quarterly newsletter containing news and historical information about the town and its surroundings, and invitations to periodic social and recreational activities that are conducted in and around the town, including the annual mountain-top cricket match. Annual subscriptions to the Walhalla Heritage and Development League fall due on May 1st, and should be forwarded to The Membership Secretary, c/- Post Office, Walhalla, Victoria 3825. Members of the public are welcome to attend the League's public meetings, which are held in locations around the town, at 10 am on the third Sunday of every month -- enquire at the Corner Store (phone 5165 6250) if you're uncertain ... OR …send us an email at the address below. So come and see our township, and enjoy a rare slice of goldfields history. It's barely a two and a half hour drive from Melbourne, through some of the most beautiful scenery in the state, and approximately 50 km north of Moe. Or come and spend a night or two in some of the mountain accommodation you'll find there. We'll be looking forward to seeing you!
